Made my reservations
for the east rv park with full hooks ups at the Whittington Center for the week of the bptr championships.Smile
Carol said yesterday as bad as I shotDodgy here at home, and as this might be our last chance to take that match in for a few years (due to lack of rain going to have to cut the herd again this fall) might as well twist off and geter done.Wink

Very nice range and camping facilities Don.
They also have a primitive camp that is by the long range.

RE: Made my reservations
Kurt, she wanted the full service hook up, so her and Dori could just turn the tap at the sink, or turn on the microwave, or A/C without worrying about starting the generator and the like. Can't talk her into shooting , she wants to get her cataracts fixed before she does any more competitive shooting, and she doesn't want to hang around spotting all day. Guess I can't blame her on either count.
Sure wish you guys could make it out.

Well I will find out in three days what that .44-100 Maynard will do. At least I will not be 100% load developement during a match this time. I did get a chance to use it at the Mt. 1000 and Big Hill. The low score I shot was not the rifles fault.
I really would like to go Don but the schedules just dont work out.

RE: Made my reservations
I sure hope you do well at Lodi.
We figured that with having to cut the herd again ,and Carol's retiring next spring, if Raton was ever going to happen it's this one or none.
I'm looking forward to shooting the whole thing. But man alive does it take some ammo..180 rounds just for score. Sure wish Jamison would get another run of brass out. (By next week would be good)
Going to shoot the short tank busters for most of the midrange. I have 100 rounds of the postel bullet left from last year I'll use for the 600 yds targets.
Then every other available brass that isn't doing anything will be stuffed with the BACO bullet. There won't be much ammo wasted on practice, or sighters on the creedmoor, unless I drag some fixins along. But then that'ld mean I need to cast a bunch more bullets between now and leaving day... Cut more patches...

RE: Made my reservations
The bullets I use for the 100 will not shoot in the 1/19 twist or I would send you some. I shot some in the .44-77 and could not get them under 6" @200

RE: Made my reservations
Wink Appreciate the offer, but I believe I have enough bullets to go. Just won't do a lot of prematch blastin, and will have to get johnny on the spot with the sighters in the Creedmoor.
The midrange matches are pretty cut and dried 4 sighters and 10 for score at each target. so that's 42 per day x 4 days...
The Creedmoor is only 60 rounds for score (6 targets 10 shots for score), with unlimited sighters, but shooting in pairs a fella is only going to have 23 minutes to get those sighters and the 10 score shots in... That's not going to leave much time for the sighters, if a person takes some time to get a good sight picture.
The hard part is going to be double and triple counting to make sure there's enough ammo on board before the pickup pulls out, Big Grin Cuz as we both know there won't be any stopping at Walmart and grabbing a couple extra boxes of those 44 2 1/4's Tongue
