Todd.

I have three 1/2 round several octagon and round barrels, plus a light weight octagon and I can't see any difference in accuracy.
I believe different than Don on the round barrel. I think it holds better on the sticks. Dont have to contend with the sharp corner.
The 1/2 round holds better off hand.

I was looking at that rifle as well. It would be just what I was trying to build.
Decisions decisions....
This looong cold winter has kept the cranes pretty slow, may not be able to spring for a complete new rifle till the weather warms and I get the wheels turning again.
I guess there is no hurry, ( I keep telling myself) it's not like I don't have a good shooter now. I just want something with a more paper patch friendly
chamber.

The above link.

The description has me confused and you know that don't take much.

Says its made by C Sharps?

when did they start making Rolling Blocks?

I don't remember that being C Sharps logo on the butt pad?

I think that may be 'rebarrelled by C.Sharps' ? The buttplate suggests Remington Arms Co. me thinks ? .

It is one of the new Remingtons that they offered a few years ago, that has been rebarreled by CSA...
Simply put a Remington rifle with a barrel by C Sharps.

Thanks for pointing this one out Don. The chambering is right and I like the looks of the Rigby flat on the barrel I have never really warmed up to rolling blocks and the newer Remingtons that I have seen really don't thrill me. You would think that they would have made more of an effort to make a better rifle with the resources at their disposal and what they cost.
The barreled action that started this thread really had me juiced because I really looked forward to the process of finishing the rifle myself.
I am no gunsmith by any stretch of the imagination but I do enjoy working on them so the project rifle was appealing.
If my next rifle is bought ready to shoot I think I will take yours and others sage advise and order a new one to my specs.
Although on never knows when something else interesting might pop up!

At 1600 that's an awfully good deal, if a person could live with a roller..
I wonder if C Sharps worked on the trigger and such while they had it? I've read where the triggers on those new Remingtons were pretty bad. Like you said, for the money they charged for one of those you would of thought it to rival a Lonestar..
