44 money bullet 1023yds

Dan T designed a money bullet for the Shiloh 44's. I sent the drawing to John Olsen and BACO. John got blocks built for his casting machine and had bullets waiting for me when we got to Baker.
BACO is still silent.
Last evening after the Big Hill Shoot I loaded 20 rnds with those 475gr greasers 2 grooves exposed, 9 1/2 primer, .030 walters wad and 76 grs Eynsford 2f.
With Kurt spotting, and Shadow 4 looking on and making noise with his 4065, shooting into the sun with a wind that required 9-15 minutes left windage,sitting off crosssticks, this is the results of those first 20 rounds, and 3 from the 40-65

I think this bullet will work for those so inclined to shoot greasers

After chopping down a good bit of grass and weeds with that 40, he quit when he managed 3 hits out of 4, which for that wind at that distance with th 370 is gr 40 cal bullet, that ain't half bad.

That's not bad at all for 1,000+ yds. even though there's a few shots out of the picture. What is really impressive is that every bullet splat I see is straight on w/ a nice round impact circle and concentric lead spray; and that in what sounds like a fairly decent cross-wind to boot.

Looks like a winner to me. Nicely done.

Yup all those dimes we picked up were as even and as flat as a quarter.
Dan T done good when he designed this thing, and John did a bang up job casting them, and his BSC lube looks like it might just be ok.

According to Kurt, of The Grand Advisory Board,
Hickey's hits are as follows. the 9* outside the white, after 2min windage call by Kurt & obeyed by the minion, the tiny .40 put those two marks at 3* inside the white. (the pinwheel is Don's). Also the 6* in the white was put there by the itsy bitsy .40. Also according to the Grand Advisor the three shot cluster at the hanger, the one on the right is mine also. Then if you look down at the bottom of the photo the one on the left I beleive to be made by the .40 as Kurt couldn't see the hit because of the grass, (the target rang like a church bell though) That count is 6.

It just happened to be luck as I've got no shooting talent

So my initial "guess" was 20 min high, so what I got there and stayed there

the words at the picture must be mixed up you the bad boy that little 40 should get there with the 1\2 pound of black powder you got in the case I should of got my 38-55 and showed all how it was done

Impressive gents!!! I'll bet that steel must look a little on the small side at 1023 yards. Quite a few of those hits are sure lined up horizontally.

Those 3 at the hanger...(i can't even think of anything clever to say)...but it would sure be nice to know what goes "exactly right" with shots like those.
