Just how long

RE: Just how long
Hopefully I'll have the new 44 by the next shoot at Cody's. It got shipped on Wednesday. Then I need a front sight dovetail cut. MVA is sending a new globe and new base. If I'm lucky, I'll shoot it on the 20th. I'm anxious, can't imagine waiting on a new CPA. Those look like really nice rifles. Quality appears to rival a Shiloh from what I can tell. Steve

Steve congrats on your "new" 44 those are sweet rifles..
I've only really seen one CPA and that's the one I won at Raton in the drawing, if it's typical of the quality, yup it's the same level as a Shiloh.
Maybe if this weather cooperates a bit, I could feed the cows early and then turn into leadfoot Ledbetter and head south to Smithmoor...

RE: Just how long
Before I ordered my first CPA I scanned the internet and reading a lot of reports on the CPA rifles an I found a lot of negatives about the wood and metal fit. All said the rifles shoot well especially the .22's.
Then I started to think. They offer the wood unfinished maybe it's from the people that that do a poor job finishing their own wood that is the problem.
When I placed my order for my rifle I opted for the standard wood unfinished using my barrel from the Oregon Gun works because CPA did not stock .44 barrels in the .438/.446 bore groove and they used my reamer for this project with out a problem. Gail is a very pleasant person to work with over the phone as well when I went to pick up the rifle and met her Father Paul.
The barrels are 1.250/1.000" muzzle. The .44 barrel is 32" long and the .22 is a Douglas premium 28" with the same profile as the .44 except 4" shorter.

Kurt,

Is that a DZ Arms scope and their Unertl style scope mounts on your rifle? If so, how do you like it? Thanks for the picture.

RE: Just how long
Yes it is.
I haven't shot it enough making elevation changes to judge it yet. changing between 130 yards I have I my yard to 200 yards at the range it seems to be repeatable. It's just opposite form the MVA, it's like the M-1 Military sights. The glass is very bright and the parallax adjustment is good.

The CPA .22 is a fine shooter. What barrel did you order with it?
Mine seems not to be to particular what ammo it shoots. There is not to much difference between the mid to high end from what I have shot so far.
I'm having them make me another one so I don't have to switch the barrels so they wot loosen up.
hey said sent me the barrel and breach block and they will give me credit for it.

Kurt

Heart it
Thanks, nice offer.
